Six Soaring Stars for the Saffrons
Antrim picked up SIX Camogie Soaring Stars awards at Friday night's All Stars dinner in Kildare. Ten of the side who played in the All Ireland final win over Kilkenny last season were nominated for awards.
Ahoghill's Caitriona Graham got the goalkeeper award, while Dunloy's Chloe Drain was selected at corner back. Chloe's Dunloy club mate Nicole O'Neill won one of the two midfield slots while three of the six forward positions were filled by Ballycastle's Maeve Kelly, who slots in at right half forward, and the Loughgiel duo of Roisin McCormick and Caitrin Dobbin who take the two corner forward positions.
It is the second Soaring Star awards for Chloe Drain and Maeve Kelly, having both been named on last year's team, while all except Chloe have won College's All Star awards in the past.
Maeve Kelly also won the Intermediate Player Player of the Year award.
